An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our organisation in delivering the Department of International Trade (DIT) contract for the East of England as an Interim Export Manager. DIT is responsible for promoting British trade across the world, providing bespoke and tailored services to businesses, supporting the achievement of their export growth objectives. We are now looking for an Interim Export Manager who will work with companies which are too small to have their own export management resource, for periods of up to 12 weeks, providing in-depth expertise information, advice and guidance to help these companies to move quickly and successfully into internalisation and exporting.

This position will cover the East of England region.

The Role

You will work with companies to develop and grow their exporting success, providing hands-on support from within the company’s own structures to support export projects and develop effective internalisation strategies. You will provide regular updates on activities and feedback at the end of each assignment. The Interim Export Manager will take lead responsibility within the wider team for a particular aspect of the service, such as a sector or size focus, a specific product or service, or the development of a project or initiative to improve the international trade service. You will support others within the international trade team and across the organisation to enhance opportunities for shared success.

You will have demonstrable experience of international trade to multiple destinations and preferably across more than one sector, as well as understanding of key international trade development issues and economic drivers influencing the organisation’s propensity to export. You will be proficient in IT and CRM systems. Relevant formal qualifications and prior membership of Institute of Export and maintenance of ongoing CPD are desirable. You will be a self-starter, excited about working against challenging targets and timeframes, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels.

This role is subject to Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) pre-employment screening.

Salary up to £36,090 per annum plus car allowance, 10.5% non-contributory pension, 26 days holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays, life assurance and income protection, participation in bonus scheme, and access to voluntary benefit options including child care vouchers, flexi pension and ability to buy holiday.
