This vacancy is with one of the UK's leading manufacturers of inkjet inks who are located in Whitchurch, Shropshire and the job will be based in their head office at this location.

The job entails working as a member of their production team. As a member of the production team, you will be working with chemicals and operating machinery to manufacture high-quality inkjet inks.

The ideal candidate will have experience of operating mixers, pumps and other machinery. Attention to detail and the ability to safely work with chemicals are also vital.

Key Responsibilities

- Manufacture ink in accordance with procedures and work instructions
- Weigh or measure out chemicals and other ingredients for manufacture of inks
- Carry out QC tests on finished inks
- Responsibility for quality control of inks
- Accurately update production records on specified forms
- Organise raw material stocks in warehouse
- Transfer IBC’s and chemical drums from solvent store to production areas using appropriate lifting equipment
- Operate pumps, mixers and similar equipment
- Monitor raw material stock levels
- Fill ink into bottles from bulk storage containers
- Assist in manufacture/packing of other products when required
- Inspect goods received and ensure they are of correct quantity & type
- Work safely in a potentially hazardous environment
- Clean and maintain mixing equipment
- Carry out general maintenance in the factory
- Keep work area clean and tidy
- Other duties as required

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

- Basic engineering skills – safely operate pumps, heaters, mixers and other machinery
- Experience of manufacturing ink, paint or similar coatings would be an advantage
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Experience of working with hazardous chemicals
- Experience of working in a lab or carrying out QC tests would be an advantage
- Fork-lift truck licence
- Good standard of numeracy
- Good written/spoken English
- Job involves some heavy lifting
- To be adaptable and flexible in approach to work
- Work efficiently as part of a small team
- Job involves working with some hazardous chemicals - full training and PPE will be provided
