This not-for-profit organisation is looking to recruit an HR Officer to work as a key member of the team and provide comprehensive generalist HR support to the organisation on a range of Human Resources issues such as recruitment, employee relations, equality and diversity and query resolution.

Specific Responsibilities

- Oversee recruitment from vacancy through to appointment, liaise with line managers on development of advertising documentation, up to Director level and encouraging best practice in all recruitment and selection activity.
- Supporting Line Managers all matters relating to HR including terms and conditions, absence, and flexible working requests.
- Communicate family friendly policy to relevant employees, assisting with any queries and ensuring all relevant paperwork is produced.
- Providing generalist HR advice to line managers to ensure full compliance with employment legislation, supporting and advising on employee relations case management and escalating to the Head of HR where necessary.
- To oversee the preparation and issue of appropriate contractual documentation in relation to appointments, terminations and variations of employment including accurate notification to Payroll.
- Support and oversee the work of the HR Co-ordinator and HR Administrator
- Line Management of HR Apprentice.
- Oversee the accuracy and maintenance of the HR CIPHR data.
- Champion equality and diversity in the workplace through producing quarterly report for the Head of HR and SMT lead on the annual Stonewall submission and actively seek to implement improvement projects
- Support the Head of HR with the annual appraisal cycle
- Contribute and support the continuous improvement of HR systems, practices and policies in the organisation, ensuring they underpin our Company culture.
- Assist and lead where appropriate on other Human Resources projects and activities.

The successful candidate will need previous generalist HR experience with significant involvement in recruitment activities. The successful candidate will also have a strong awareness of relevant legislation, policy and procedures, including employee relations work, and an understanding of the full range of HR issues and their inter- relationships. They will have the ability to prioritise work effectively under tight deadlines, excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters discreetly.
