In Northampton, they are working hard to tackle and prevent homelessness, reduce our use of temporary accommodation and deliver better outcomes. They are committed to multi agency working and have set up a Wellbeing Partnership to improve the co-ordination of housing, social care, health and wellbeing services.
An opportunity has arisen for a Homeslessness Investigating Officer within Housing and Wellbeing to cover a period of Maternity Leave.
They are now looking to recruit a homelessness specialist to work within the Housing Options and Advice Team who is an excellent team player and has extensive experience of investigating and determining homelessness applications.
With a proven track record of successful multi agency working, you will be outcome focused, clear thinking and have excellent written and communication skills. You will also be a skilled and effective negotiator and problem solver.
To meet the requirements of this key role, you must be customer focused, able to interpret complex legislation and guidance, and be able to meet tight deadlines.
In this role the successful candidate work as part of a team undertaking interviews of households who are homeless in accordance with the legislative definition.
Duties will include: -
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and appropriate record keeping including updating case files
- Work in accordance with the procedures of the service to ensure equitable service in provided to all applicants
- To support the Housing Options and Advice Manager and both Senior Officers.
