This leading independent commercial vehicle repairer requires a HGV driver/defect technician to work remotely, onsite at one of their customer's distribution centres.
The job location is just off the M1 junction 29.
They supply onsite maintenance support working out of their customer's own workshop.
You will work alongside their team of 3 technicians also based at their depot. They currently have 1 technician working a permanent dayshift and 2 others working a continental shift pattern on an afternoon shift. Your position will be on the dayshift but they will require you to change shift to provide cover when the afternoon/continental shift technicians are on holiday.
They are looking for enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
Duties will include:
- assisting technicians in routine servicing and maintenance.
- bringing trailers to their main workshop in Alfreton for roller brake testing.
- bringing trailers to their main workshop in Alfreton for MOT.
This will include driving the trailer through the MOT.
- repairing minor defects and make running repairs to allow vehicles and trailers to go out on time.
This includes signing off defect paperwork and reporting work completed to the customer's traffic office.
- shunting vehicles and trailers in the depot including putting vehicles and trailers in the onsite workshop.
- assisting the main workshop in Alfreton, collecting and delivering trailers from other customers as and when needed.
You should be flexible as you will need to be prepared to swap shifts and cover when the continental afternoon shift technicians are on holiday.
You will be able to work efficiently to very high quality standards, be polite and customer focused.
Clean LGV C+E Driving Licence, Driver CPC are essential requirements.
