This IT Support company is looking for a new team member to help with the growing business. This position will primarily based in the Edinburgh office.

First and foremost an IT support engineer that will work within their Edinburgh office, assisting with 1st and 2nd line support calls from their business clients. Travel to client sites throughout Scotland, which might involve staying overnight occasionally. Answering calls from their clients and keeping their Helpdesk System up to date. Communicating with clients in different ways appropriate to them, including phone and email. Managing multiple aspects of clients’ IT Systems

What are they actually looking for?

Good customer service is essential, and Service/Retail experience is a bonus with IT experience. Someone who can work on their own initiative, but still as part of the team.

Ability to prioritise tasks. A range of practical IT skills are necessary, but you must also have the ability to learn new ones. Someone who has a passion for IT, whether it is through an IT related degree, system building or being the IT person in your family/friends!

Skills desirable include:

- Willingness to learn
- Customer Service skills
- Windows Environments
- Networking skills including configuration of Firewalls or knowledge of - DNS
- Good knowledge of Office suites
- Windows servers, and their components
- Cloud-based solutions including Office 365
- Mobile devices
- Linux/Mac experience is bonus
- Full UK driving licence

The salary they will offer is really down to the experience you have, along with the potential you can bring to the company. If you have no business IT experience, but are willing to work hard and prove yourself then you must have a confident business manner. If you have lot of IT experience, then they will expect you to deliver from day one, therefore allowing the company to take on larger IT projects and customers.
