Position: Health and Safety Officer. Full-Time, Permanent role

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 4.30pm, Friday 8.00am – 1.30pm. 37.5-hour working week

Location: Long Acre, Nechells, Birmingham

Salary: £27,500 to £30,000 (dependent upon experience)

Holidays: 23 Days’ Holiday per annum + Bank Holidays, Pension Scheme, on-site secure free car parking

This company is looking to recruit a Health and Safety Officer.

The successful candidate will have gained experience from working in a hands-on Health and Safety role within a manufacturing environment for a minimum of 3 years.

They will be able to embrace all aspects of the role (including administration) and work autonomously, travelling between the company's two sites in North Birmingham.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

- Be responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety e.g. assisting andgiving H&S support with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, running Group H&S meetings with workforce representatives and maintaining the Company's standards of ISO 14001 & ISO 18001/45001 Certification
- Provide full H&S induction of new employees; also issue, maintain & monitor PPE requirements
- Be responsible for developing good practice and driving the staff cultural vision and values though appropriate training and communication, including Toolbox Talks
- Work closely and effectively with the senior management team to ensure the H&S and business strategies are aligned
- Heavy involvement in the monthly internal and annual external auditing process, providing information and ensuring all processes are up-to-date
- Ensure all visiting contractors provide RAMS and log data provided
- Cross-reference training records for all employees with Risk Assessments
- Be responsible for ensuring the company maintains adequate numbers of First Aiders, Fire Marshals and Spill Responders at all sites
- Diarising and Renewals of Plant & Machinery Service Contracts
- Diarising and Renewals of Motor Vehicles MOT, Tax, Servicing and Maintenance Records
- Maintain complete records for Environmental Waste Transfers
- Work with an advisory body in all aspects of H&S where necessary
- Assist with Occupational Health and referrals
- Excellent knowledge and skills with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- IOSH or NEBOSH accreditation required

Must have a clean UK Driving License & own transport.
