This varied role is a great opportunity for a Health & Safety executive with some relevant experience to develop their experience and skills further in a leading trade association.

Within the post, you will have the chance to contribute to an essential industry critical to the UK construction and manufacturing. sector. As Director of Health and Safety, your key remit will be to provide professional support and guidance to all of our industry product groups in respect of all aspects of occupational health, safety and welfare, including public safety.

Supported by, and reporting to, our CEO, your duties will include providing leadership and direction with the desire to promote a positive industry culture focusing on accountability, ownership and continuous improvement. You will be key in assisting in the design, development and promotion of the industry health and safety strategy to ensure risk reduction across all members, and in doing so achieving the industry objective of zero harm.

The role requires the ability to be able to build strong relationships and work closely with other H&S Directors, Senior Operational teams and external stakeholders.

In turn, you will have:

- Current full Chartered Status with IOSH (CMIOSH) and have achieved NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.

- The experience and seniority to be able to present industry performance and progress at the highest levels both internally within the Association, to the industry generally, and also represent the industry to key stakeholders nationally and internationally when required.

- The ability to build consensus, work collaboratively and diplomatically is essential.

- Any experience within a heavy processing environment, construction generally, or mineral extraction would be a definite plus.

- A strong, engaging personality and able to converse with both internal external stakeholders at every level with strong IT, and administrative and secretariat skills.
