Health and Safety Co-ordinator
Based at Bedford
Full Time - 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Permanent
Circa £24,000 per annum plus benefits package

This company is a dynamic and ambitious 18,000 unit Housing Association based in Bedford and operating throughout the Oxford to Cambridge growth corridor. The organisation employs 400 people, has an annual turnover in excess of £120m and a development programme that will see it build around 3,000 new homes over the next five years making it one of the top 25 of developing associations.

They have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Co-Ordinator to join their Data and Asset Team. The role will support the Cyclical Works Officer and involve: facilitating the management of cyclical maintenance and inspection regimes; ensuring robust processes are in place for managing the servicing contracts.; administering servicing / testing contracts for gas and electric.; instigating appropriate legal action where access to properties is denied for gas safety check or electrical tests; working with managers within Property Services; ensuring process is in place to ensure actions from fire risk assessments are acted upon; monitoring properties for the presence of asbestos; liaising with contractors in order to keep them up to date with survey results; keeping all the systems fully up to date with results of asbestos surveys and removals; making sure Keystone Service & Inspection module is used to manage the asbestos surveying workflow and legionella risk assessments.

You will have in-depth knowledge and experience of construction repairs and maintenance, preferably with previous experience within a repairs service and/or customer contact team. You will demonstrate excellent customer care skills and show an understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity, in all aspects of the role.

You will possess good communication skills (verbal and written) as well as an excellent attention to detail, committed to providing good quality information to both internal and external stakeholders. You will have knowledge of Microsoft Office and other specialist software packages. You will also have the ability to work without guidance and prioritise you own workload as well as work as part of a team.
