A fantastic opportunity is available for a Head of Retail Sales to join the UK's number one Telecommunications Distributor. The ideal candidate will come from a supplier / distribution channel background and have experience in dealing with top tier Retailers.

Location: Manchester and National Travel
Salary: Up to £80,000 OTE plus car, annual stretch bonus and benefits

Purpose of role:
To optimise the performance of the Retail division by developing and delivering a business strategy for customer management and acquisition that maximises gross profit. To drive growth in sales and ensure that the brand is properly represented to all customers. To build a motivated and high achieving team through effective leadership and line management of the Retail Division, ensuring strong operational performance. To assist the development of the retail product sets into a broader range of consumer electronics categories based on the company strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Retail Division sales strategy to maximise profitable sales and growth for the business by setting out a compelling vision.
- Drive revenue growth with new and existing customers by working collaboratively with cross functional teams e.g. purchasing, marketing, technical support to ensure that business plans are implemented and resulting growth targets achieved.
- Generate ideas about future retail division activity by maintaining up to date knowledge of the market place, competitors and trends in order to identify and introduce new products into current or adjacent markets.
- Develop and implement strategies to identify new business initiatives by maximising market opportunities
- Actively develop industry presence by leveraging successful and profitable relationships with customers, vendors and manufacturers to secure sources of potential business to drive up divisional growth.
- Identify areas of strength, potential growth as well as areas for improvement with regard to all aspects of sales, margin & cost management for the Retail Division.
- Lead and manage the sales team effectively and proactively ensuring all available resource and support is utilised in order to maximise team performance.
- Analyse sales reports and business results and take appropriate action to capitalise on strengths and any deficiencies of the product and market; partnering with relevant teams e.g. Purchasing and Marketing to implement plans in a timely and efficient manner.
Present and report to the board

Qualifications / Relevant Experience:

Essential
- Substantial experience at the senior executive leadership level, preferably in a comparable industry – 5 years minimum
- Demonstrable experience and achievement selling into Retail customers.
- Strong demonstrable track record in sales management and delivering revenue and profit growth.
