In this role they need the Head of Engineering to manage all aspects of work within your prescribed area of control, whilst maintaining a constant focus on health and safety and employee welfare. To promote the company’s open democratic culture, whilst effectively meeting the demands of the customer through focusing on quality, service delivery, cost and efficient process control.

Responsibilities:
- To drive a 'continuous improvement’ culture throughout your team and create an appetite for the same throughout other business functions.
- Initiate and support key projects utilising both internal expertise and approved contractors relating to process improvements pertaining to; waste reduction, labour efficiency and productivity increases, environmental/energy saving initiatives, safer working practices, etc. Must be able to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- To continually review equipment specification to ensure these are 'best fit’ and make recommendations for change where appropriate.
- Create a reliable plant & equipment lifecycle plan and support this with a structured capital investment plan.
- Seek to reduce labour requirements through mechanisation where possible.
- Identify root cause(s) of engineering downtime and introduce effective measures such as ERD and MTBF data for analysis to eliminate/reduce.
- To promote quality to your team as a key performance measure and ensure quality standards are at best maintained and improved where scope exists.
- To conduct regular appraisals/performance reviews for direct reports and ensure this process is effectively cascaded through the entire engineering team.

What you need to succeed:
- Previous experience fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Previous experience operating at Head Of level
- Previous experience operating within a manufacturing environment
- You'll hold an Engineering degree or substantial and equivalent experience.
- You’ll have strong attention to detail, ensuring quality is maintained at a high standard.
- You’ll be an amazing team player.
- You’ll have the ability to prioritise and multitask.
