This is an opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic Head of Digital Design to join this full service agency based in the heart of Leicester. You will have the opportunity to lead from the front, working on high profile digital projects and shaping and recruiting the perfect creative team around you. You will drive this team to success through a strong strategy and vision and help shape the strategic direction of the company.

Working closely with other senior managers and reporting directly to the MD, you will be joining a skilled, committed and friendly team. Split across offices in Leicester, London, Asia and America they work with great ecommerce and cultural organisations.

Responsibilities
This is a new senior role so they expect it will inevitably evolve, however the following areas have already been identified as priorities for the role from day one

Lead from the front to set the highest design standards and direction, introducing and applying expert art direction to the visual and UX design elements across all their projects and campaigns

Forge and execute innovative, visually beautiful and commercial design concepts

Manage and mentor, coach and develop the current team of Digital Designer and two UX Designers and grow this team further. Inspiring and motivating the whole team to be creatively progressive and inventive

Work closely with the operations and project delivery team to ensure beautiful designs are carried through to the highest standard

Stay up to date with industry trends and uncover new ways to incorporate emerging techniques and technologies

The Ideal Candidate

A real passion for user centred, data driven digital design and strong creative thinking, with the confidence to present and explain (sometimes defend!) ideas to clients and colleagues, with solid rationales based on UI principles, user research as well as sector and product knowledge.

Management experience in leading a wider team of designers, ideally as a Head of Department, a minimum of 3+ years agency experience and with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication or related area.

The ability to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the digital design process with senior design experience in brand, visual and UX design development

Natural communication and collaborative skills with the ability to work across multiple business units including delivery, business development and marketing teams.

Mastery of Invision, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

And as ever, you will have an organised and structured approach to work as well as the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
