Exmouth

This is a leisure and entertainment complex, including tenpin bowling and a large soft play area, that also boasts a large Grill Bar Restaurant on the ground floor, the Deck Restaurant on the first floor, with a meeting room for 30 people and a prestigious function suite on the second floor that accommodates weddings, conferences and events for up to 250 people.

They are now seeking a Head Chef to join their dynamic organisation at a time of significant change and growth. You will have a passion for menu design, working to budgets, the delivery of high standard of meals, with proven leadership qualities and experience of working in a similar environment. You must be able to work well under pressure to meet the demands of the business and be a team player.

Job purpose

Responsible for the operation of the kitchen and allied areas producing food throughout the facility in accordance with operational and statutory requirements. To strive to deliver the highest level of customer and staff satisfaction.

Essential attributes
- BTEC or NVQ level 3 equivalent in Hospitality Management or professional cookery
- Level 2 Food Safety
- Minimum 3 years professional chef experience in a similar environment
- Experience of menu planning & costing
- Leadership skills
- Experience in stock control and maintaining records
- Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene regulations and procedures
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Time management skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable attributes
- Current First Aid at Work Certificate
- Level 3 Food Safety
- Good general education
- IT experience including Word, Excel & Email applications
