This company assists Schools, Charities and other community focused organisations to access a range of grant funding for projects that will improve the lives of disadvantaged groups of people.
The Role
They are looking for an experienced Grant Writer or someone who can demonstrate that they can rapidly acquire the skills needed to formulate effective bids for grant funds.
Activities and Interactions
- Through client interaction and research, you will gain an understanding of the specific problem or issue that the client’s project will address.
- You will formulate a bid within the application framework of the relevant grant fund, paying particular attention to how the outcomes of the project will address the identified needs of the beneficiaries.
- You will discuss the bid with the client and give them guidance on how to approach the application process.
- You will maintain contact with the client throughout the application process and deal with any queries they have about the process or their interaction with the grant awarding authority.
Experience
Previous experience will be an advantage but all applicants must demonstrate an ability to produce a cogent argument in support of their clients’ needs. Some knowledge of the UK education systems, Public Health, Child Development and Social Issues would be useful.
Targets
You will be expected to be productive in this role and to broadly achieve the goals that are set.
Location and working conditions
They are based in Wadebridge, Cornwall and have regular team meetings to discuss particular issues and developing trends. It is therefore preferable that you are located nearby but they will consider applicants from further afield if they have exceptional skills or experience. They are flexible about working hours and part-time and freelance options may be available.
