Our client is looking to recruit a Graduate Software Engineer. They are a specialist provider of IPTV, Video on Demand and digital signage software designed specifically to meet the requirements of closed communities including corporate, retail, education and hospitality.

If you are an IT enthusiast with a thorough knowledge of Linux, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, XML and XSLT, this is the ideal opportunity to gain a valuable entry point into new and exciting area of technology within a fast growing software company. You will have the chance to work with new advances in Web development and video streaming, putting you firmly at the forefront of the development spectrum.

Joining a progressive, flexible, forward-thinking company, as a Graduate Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing IPTV and video streaming solutions for thin client devices, smart television and set top boxes.

Working in a Linux environment using PHP and web programming, you will design, code, test and deliver software packages for their client's existing range of products.

Additionally, participating in the design of new products and features, you will play a key role in solving design and support issues.

To be considered for this superb opportunity, you must have knowledge of the following gained through your studies, commercial experience or similar:

- Linux, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, HTML, XML, XSLT and bash
- Networking, such as TCP/IP, switches, routers, configuring servers and PCs
- SQL databases, preferably MySQL
- Unix and/or Linux, shell scripting, installation, configuration and maintenance
- Windows and common office applications
- Change control tools
- Computer hardware
- Designing and implementing great looking user interfaces for set top boxes and PCs

Additionally, you must be creative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. You must be self-confident with an ability to apply technical knowledge to perform all functions. Analytical and problem solving skills are key to this role.

Whilst not essential, any previous experience of working with set top boxes would be beneficial to your application.
