This is an exciting new trainee role in a fast-growing business based at their Head Office Farnham, Surrey. The Marketing Trainee will assist the Marketing Department in the development, delivery and co-ordination of Company brand communications, particularly across digital and other traditional formats.

In addition, the trainee will be expected to help with the major events that the Company organises throughout the year. This is a ‘hands-on’ role and participation on the day is also required.

The successful candidate will learn about and become involved in the following areas of our marketing activity:

DIGITAL SUPPORT
- Supporting website development and updating
- Monitoring and assisting with the Company’s social media channels
- Assisting with large projects, customer communications and marketing events
- Proof reading - including social media posts, blog articles and press releases
- Proposing new ideas and concepts for digital content resulting from research of relevant themes/content
- Working alongside the Marketing Manager to continually monitor trading performance and consumer buying trends
- A basic understanding of digital media metrics is important
- Developing on line surveys

MARKETING SUPPORT
- Project management for events and roadshows
- Working with the sales team to develop launch/existing client collateral
- Competitor researching
- Ensuring consistency in messaging and focus across all marketing channels
- Working with the wider team to develop major multi-channel campaigns for peak trading periods
- Updating on marketing activity, trends, offers
- Helping to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency by monitoring the ROI across all marketing spend.
- Attending marketing meetings when required and making an active contribution to business decisions
- Working with the manager/supplier to assist lead generation and analytics
- Developing content and design of HTMLs

REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in Marketing would be preferable but not essential
- A keen interest in marketing
- A keen interest in photography/media
- An artistic flair and be a creative thinker
- Knowledge of design tools
- Analytical skills for reporting, competitor research and creative content development
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a solid foundation of English grammar
- Strong computer skills, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Passion for detail and timely delivery
- Knowledge and interest of key social media channels
