The Organisation:
This organisation is the UK’s largest independent manufacturer of chocolate novelty confectionery. Established over 40yrs they produce confectionery for some of the UK’s largest and most respected retailers. They also contract manufacture for some of the largest global confectionery businesses. They permanently employ circa 1000 people in the UK.

The Project:
They are seeking to recruit an intern to work on implementing a leading Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system to support new ways of working for the New Product Development (NPD) teams. They develop hundreds of new products every year and NPD is critical to the success of the business. The NPD teams have been re-structured and their business processes re-engineered so that the new products can be designed and developed more effectively and delivered on time. The PLM system has been re-designed to support these changes and will be rolled out to 100 users across 3 locations shortly.

Tasks will include:
The intern will initially be involved in supporting the project team that has designed and developed the PLM system. The first phase of the work will be testing the system to identify any problems and working with the project team to resolve them. The intern will support the delivery programme to help users in the early stages of using the system.

They are looking for the following skills and qualities:

Essential:
Experience of working to agreed targets/deadlines
PC literate (Inc. Microsoft Word and Excel)
Excellent communication skills, written and oral
Detail orientated
Works in a logical, organised manner
Is a systems thinker
Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable with interacting with people at all levels within an organisation

Desirable:
An understanding of business
