This specialist contract packing company based near Ipswich is looking for a Goods Controller to join their busy warehouse team.

This excellent opportunity requires an organised person who is able to prioritise a busy workload whilst managing and moving all incoming and outgoing goods to their site. A current forklift license is essential.

GOODS CONTROLLER

As part of the Warehouse Team this role is responsible for all incoming and outgoing goods to the site. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, be exceptionally well organized and used to meeting deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor you will be responsible for:
- Efficiently managing all incoming and outgoing goods to the site
- Problem solving
- Contributing to the general maintenance and upkeep of the service area
- Ensuring site H&S policies are adhered to

In detail:
- Responsible for checking quantity and quality of goods both in and out of the factory, in line with the Company’s relevant policy documents and to weigh all incoming goods including raw materials, film and pouches on platform scales.
- Storing, locating and recording all goods in warehouse racking system and general organisation of warehouse storage space.
- Loading and unloading lorries
- Recording of finished goods and storage until ready for collection
- Ensuring goods out are ready for loading in advance of transport arrival
- Picking and collating orders for customers where required
- Responsible for lorry inspections, forklift maintenance schedules (including a weekly maintenance checklist), general cleanliness and general health and safety in the warehouse area in line with company policy including rodent control monitoring.
- Responsible for overseeing the removal of general waste from warehouse & production areas and responsibility for waste management/recycling plan to include maintenance of balers and training of personnel to use baler.

About you:
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing / stock environment
- Strong leadership skills, confident in managing a team of fork lift drivers
- Exposure to high volume stock control
- Good communication skills and willingness to take on responsibility
- Knowledge of Word and Excel spreadsheets
- Full, clean driving license and fork lift license

Full time, permanent role
Hours 8.15am – 5pm Monday to Friday
