Working for one of the world’s leading promotions and premiums agency, the role requires the co-ordination and management of all elements of International logistics in order to service a global client base.

They are rapidly expanding their operations and are currently looking for a global logistics specialist to join their exciting organisation.

From international inbound and outbound shipments, to co-ordinating international cross-dock shipments as well as both domestic and European onward distribution, this logistics role is all encompassing.

In addition to logistics, the successful candidate will also be responsible for liaising with 3rd party warehousing located in China, Hong Kong and the UK to ensure all goods delivered by their suppliers arrive in a timely manner and are correctly recorded into stock, before overseeing the despatch and delivery of orders to their global clients in the most cost-effective and time sensitive manner.

This role will report into the Operations Director based in the same office. The majority of goods will be shipped from China to various global locations via sea or air freight, although International couriers are utilised for more urgent orders.

Responsibilities

- Overall responsibility for the company’s global logistics
- Organising air-freight and bulk forwarding to other global sites
- Liaising with 3rd party warehouses organising cost effective freight solutions to multiple global territories.
- Liaising with UK and International suppliers on a daily basis
- Complying with international trade laws and regulations
- Ensure all products meet all relevant safety compliance legislation
- Ensure all products have the necessary certification required for transit and customs clearance.
- Dealing with all shipping documentation and customs requests
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints
- Create and maintain inbound quality checking system and processes
- Liaise and negotiate with freight forwarders ensuring the very best prices and cost savings.

Requirements
- At least 3yrs Previous experience as a forwarding/shipping agent is essential.
- Excellent knowledge of product certification required for air and sea freight as well as customs clearance.
- Good understanding of product classification and commodity codes.
- Experience in supplier and relationship management
- Strong IT skills
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
