This is an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join this new restaurant opening in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

About the business:
They think that the title ‘General Manager’ doesn’t really describe what you will be doing within their business. Yes, you will be doing many of the traditional tasks expected of a restaurant manager, but a career with them is about so much more than just task-focused, KPI orientated work.

They offer a home-from-home environment for their guests and they pride themselves on the genuine relationships they build, offering more than just a boring, run of the mill chain-style level of service. As well as their bespoke approach to what great hospitality is (be yourself and be warm and kind; it’s impossible to give bad service if you’re doing this), they also offer delicious and fresh home-style food which is all cooked to order using fabulous ingredients every time.

Their teams are the most important element of their business. Their people make their business, and they are able to cheerfully say that their success is down to each and every individual’s work, commitment and contribution.

They are lucky enough to still be a small (ish) company, so they are able to offer flexibility and a certain freedom in how they run their restaurants – or rather, how you will run your restaurant. They think like a big company by being innovative in their approaches to people and food but act like a caring, individualistic small company.

About you:
They like people who are unashamedly curious, fun and adventurous. They think that these attributes mean a willingness to learn and grow, through always asking questions and seeking new inspiration, not settling for the norm or following well-worn paths.

Their core values are pretty straight forward, and although some of them aren’t tangible, they are important to them. They look for kindness, warmth, positive energy, curiosity, drive, integrity and hospitality. Your team will work cohesively with you to offer your guests a fantastic experience every time they visit, ensuring that the restaurant is seen as an integral part of the community.

You must be self-motivated and passionate about joining a growing, exciting and fast paced business, where you will be representing their brand. They are not overly prescriptive so you will be required to be able to work independently and with a certain level of autonomy.

You must be able to inspire and lead as opposed to simply managing and directing – you will be given a lot of freedom to run your restaurant with limited head office instruction, and as such you really are a leader and partner within the business.

You must be a great communicator; it is the key to success in so many ways.

You should be creative in your approach and have an ability to ‘big picture think’ when it comes to your role. They encourage anyone who wants to take the next step in their career within hospitality to join them!
