This company is the market leader in linen and garment rental and their company supply textiles to Scotland’s top hotels and business. Established more than 100 years ago, our successful company employs over 850 staff at our production plants in Cupar, Perth, Coatbridge, Livingston & Newcastle.
They are looking for an experienced General Manager preferably with a previous background in Operations, Service, Transport and Engineering.
Duties would include overseeing day to day running of the Coatbridge site, leading Production, Engineering, HR, Service to those customers served by the plant &
Transport Departments. Duties would include assisting in the preparation of the annual financial plan and managing costs flexibly to remain consistent with the plan and the achievement of best value.
As General Manager you will be wholly responsible for this fast-moving and prestigious operation, including H&S responsibility for the facility. Overseeing production you would be expected to keep production volumes to optimum levels and oversee the production planning to maximise efficiency whilst ensuring customer needs are met.
The achievement of KPI's while managing relationships together with the strategic management and operational aspects of the site are also key. You will implement a process of continuous improvement, working with all departments and senior executives to identify opportunities and undertake a number of business critical initiatives to support the overall business strategy. You will be an effective communicator at all levels with a good HR knowledge.
Other duties would include maintaining good working relationships with suppliers, clients, contractors who visit site, the local community and employees. Health and Safety is also a major part of the role ensuring the plant is compliant and employees adhere to best practice.
Hours are Monday to Friday however applicants must be flexible and accessible over weekends and as required especially in peak seasons.
