This leading European supplier of technical textile threads to the Automotive Supply Chain, is now looking for General Engineering Assistant.

To carry out day to day administration of engineering stores and assisting in engineering and maintenance functions on plant and machinery.

These will include but not be limited to,assisting with preventative maintenance activities and repairs and also installation of equipment as required.

The employee may be asked to work in any department where there is need for extra labour or cover for sickness and Holidays. The responsibilities of the roles are:

- Organising and numbering spare parts in the engineering stores and administering stock levels on a daily basis using the SAP system.
- Assisting with preventative and reactive maintenance activities as required.
- Assisting with the building and installation of new machinery.
- Assisting with the moving and relocation of existing machinery and equipment.
- Participating in the upkeep of company housekeeping to 5S standards.
- Completion of any necessary paperwork when required.
- Undertaking project work as required.
- Working safely to Health and Safety requirements and wearing any required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Understands the safety critical nature of products where the work may have an impact on such goods,

Who are they looking for?..
Someone who can demonstrate:
- Good understanding of Engineering skills and the ability to organize and maintain a storage facility.
- Competence in the use of hand and power tools.
- Awareness and compliance of safe working practices.
- Cooperation with colleagues and all levels of management and supervision in order to perform tasks required to fulfill the business needs of the company.
- Actively participate in the reduction of waste and energy saving controls as required.
