Garage Workshop Manager. £32,000 + on-call payments + benefits including 25 days’ holiday + 8 days (bank) holiday, pension, health care, free parking, discounted produce, Christmas food box etc.

Hours: 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, and every other Saturday.

The Role: As Garage Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for keeping the vehicle fleet running smoothly through effective management of the Mechanics Workshop and its’ staff. The fleet of 100+ vehicles is predominantly composed of 3.5 tonne Mercedes Sprinter vans.

The Garage Workshop Manager will be based in the Head Office in the beautiful Chew Valley (Bishop Sutton, BS39), 12 miles south of Bristol and Bath.

Garage Workshop Manager, Responsibilities:

- Oversee booking in and out of vehicles to and from the workshop for repairs and routine maintenance.
- Attend and oversee vehicle breakdowns as required, performing ad-hoc and routine maintenance and repair
- Oversee all vehicle and machinery servicing activity and maintain documentation, service records, MOTs and log books
- Maintain an efficient workshop through organising and maintaining impress stock, effective allocation of stock and ensuring records are kept up to date and accurate
- Submit monthly budget and KPI reports to Transport Management Team
- Carry out team 121s and more formal meetings in line with company development and performance management procedures
- Offer technical support to company staff and external clients
- Promote continuous improvement across efficiencies, cost, performance and productivity at all times
- Comply with Health and Safety legislation and in house quality standards at all times

Garage Workshop Manager, Skills and Experience required:

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a garage/workshop environment
- Team management experience
- A working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
- A Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Mechanics and Maintenance
- An ability to work on your own initiative and with cross functional departmental teams
- An ability to meet and exceed set deadlines
- A full UK Driving Licence.
