This company is looking for an experienced front-end developer to join their growing team.

The work undertaken within this role is varied and exciting. The company regularly collaborates on projects with industry-renowned design and branding agencies to bring unique and progressive design ideas to life.

The successful applicant will enjoy working with clients from all over the world, with work recently undertaken for businesses based in Stockholm, Sydney and New York.

Applicants for this role will ideally have at least five years experience building responsive websites from supplied design files, using semantic HTML5, JavaScript (ideally Vanilla JS), SASS/CSS and PHP. Experience in extracting assets and generating SVGs with Adobe XD, Sketch or Figma is preferred.

A working knowledge of WordPress would be advantageous as a key aspect of the role is bespoke WordPress theme development, however the company is keen to always use the best available technology for each client and project, so experience with any content management system will be beneficial.

An interest in emerging web technologies is a must. The company has recently worked with Prismic and Contentful (both headless content management systems), along with progressive JavaScript libraries such as Vue.js, Nuxt.js and React. An understanding of component based web development is desired but not essential. A desire to learn and push the boundaries of your development skills is crucial.

This role will require acute attention to detail and the ability to integrate the latest front-end technologies into your development tasks on a regular basis. The creative director or one of the many design agencies this company collaborates with on a regular basis will provide responsive artwork. Pixel-perfect websites must be developed, with clean, concise code, that adhere to the latest standards. Research and development is regularly required in this role, and on occasion the successful candidate will be asked to assist the Directors in preparing timing estimates for projects based on a supplied brief and/or artwork.

An interest in Progressive Web App development would also benefit the applicant, as the company is constantly looking to broaden the range of services it offers its clients, many of whom have voiced an interest in having an app created alongside their website.

The successful candidate will have the ability to manage their own projects and workload, be comfortable with communicating directly with clients and keen to integrate themselves into a growing and experienced team, based in their Exeter studio. A three month probationary period will lead to permanent employment, if successful.

They are centrally located in an attractive part of the city, allow flexible working hours (within reason) and promote a happy and relaxed atmosphere, whilst encouraging a dynamic approach to each task and creative problem solving.
