This is a fantastic opportunity for a PHP specialist to join a vibrant online marketing company based in Milton Keynes. They are seeking an experienced individual who has the ability to both design and develop software. You will be part of a tightly-knit team with a passion for branding and creativity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing and implementing new features and functionality
- Ensuring high performance and availability across all of our web products
- Managing all technical aspects of the CMS and data manipulation
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
- Candidate should have strong experience with developing WordPress themes / plugins. Ideally should be able to create a theme from scratch but experience with theme frameworks is also beneficial (Genesis / Underscores).
- Must understand the life cycle of WordPress and how to use hooks to add functionality via actions and filters.
- Experience developing responsive websites using Bootstrap framework
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (GIT)
- Experienced in at least one of the following TDD, BDD, or ATDD
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Experience using the Advanced Custom Fields Wordpress plugin.
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs
- Experience working with Node build tools (Gulp / Grunt)
PERSONAL SKILLS
- Strong communication skills, able to discuss technical challenges with other developers and share knowledge.
- Collaborate with non-technical team members, comfortable explaining solutions in layman's terms.
- Strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and requirements within the business.
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
