The Company is a leading specialist provider of tailored solutions to the transport community, solving complex operational requirements both on and off vehicle. They are recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager for their Fleet Systems business which delivers on-vehicle systems for major bus operators, vehicle manufacturers and train operators and supports those varied fleets and operational requirements. The solutions range from traditional analogue CCTV systems to fully-integrated on-board networks comprising video, Wi-Fi and media.
This is the ideal role for an experienced engineering leader, combining full technical ownership for our solutions from inception to end of life and direct responsibility for installations in the factory and out on-site. Specific key aspects of the role are:
o Sales Support - Working closely with the sales team on innovation and bid support
o Project Management - Personally managing our newest and most important projects
o Installation Manager - Managing the installations; on time, on budget and on quality
o Service Support - Handing over our systems to external and internal customers
The role is a key part of the senior management team joining sales, service and finance leaders, reporting to the MD with prime responsibility for all engineering aspects. It may suit an experienced graduate level engineer who wants to see the whole picture in a small company rather than a narrower view in a much larger company. The role is supported by professionals with deep technical skills in hardware and software development.
On the technical front the role is likely to favour candidates with relevant skills and experience in:
- Vehicle auto-electrics, preferably gained in the Bus industry
- Project Management
- Working knowledge of IP and analogue CCTV cameras and DVRs
- A good understanding of Wi-Fi and networking
- A pragmatic approach to getting things done well
Of equal importance will be the ability to lead the team with an inclusive style, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to engage with field engineers, support staff and fellow managers.
Package: Base Salary of £45-55k dependent on experience + bonus scheme + company car
