This company designs, develops and delivers innovative, cloud-based software and e-commerce websites for international hotel groups. They are often described as a ‘grown up’ startup which means they have a great office in the centre of Richmond, Surrey, and they also have great coffee & snacks.

They focus on producing truly unique, powerful and simple to use systems and are one of a few UK based tech startups to have been successfully selling enterprise grade software to the world’s largest hotel groups. They count five of the top 15 hotel groups globally in their client list including the world’s largest, Marriott.

SCOPE & PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Reporting into the CFO, the role is responsible for insuring that the books and accounts of the company are maintained to the highest standard and that routine reporting are accurate & timely. Over the next 24 months it is likely to line manage a few direct reports: they would expect candidates to have potential in terms of technical development, team management and ability to engage at senior level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Take ownership of all the transactional accounting for 2 group entities, including preparing invoices in line with contracts & chasing for payment, processing vendors invoices, updating assets register and deferred revenue schedules, preparing payments runs, carrying out banks reconciliation, processing VAT & EC returns, processing petty cash transactions.

The role is also responsible for weekly reporting, billing & reconciliation of transactions & balances for a customer for whom the company acts as a merchant of record (including nominated bank reconciliation).

Finally, the role will be involved in preparing Monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow for the group, cash nd forecast for the next 3 months, maintains database of non-financial data so that relevant and accurate KPIs can be timely produced.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

- Part Qualified (or fully qualified AAT) accountant with working knowledge of UK Gaap.
- Strong experience of transactional accounting & reconciliation (AR, AP, General ledger, fixed assets, etc.)
- Experience with simple consolidation process, reporting, forecasting, cash flow and KPIs.
- Ability to deal with database with large set of data & leverage IT systems
- Experience working in SMEs & larger organisations, willingness to progress
