This is a charitable organisation which has a profound spiritual philosophy with an emphasis on bringing the ‘infinite love of the spirit’ right down into physical matter through healing, unfoldment and meditation. Founded in 1936 it is a registered charity which employs 17 staff at its headquarters in Liss, Hampshire.

They are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised person to work autonomously and take responsibility for the finance function of this unique charity. You will be highly computer literate, able to work accurately and to deadlines, using a logical and methodical approach. The role requires a self-starter who can make decisions, will chase for information, but is not afraid to ask for guidance.

Job Purpose:

- To take responsibility for ensuring all finance processes are carried out in a timely manner
- To maintain accurate and sufficient accounting and financial records, ensuring all legislative requirements are met
- To ensure that the work of the organisation and its outputs are consistent with its charitable objectives and its ethos

You will play a key role in ensuring compliance and in meeting the charity’s objectives. You will have responsibility for the charity’s day to day accounting processes, including processing and monitoring payments and expenditures, invoice management, credit control, cash flow, petty cash, collating payroll information for submission to bureau and preparing accounts to trial balance.

In addition, you will have responsibility for assisting with preparation of departmental budgets and monitoring these closely, bank reconciliations, maintaining records and cash handling/reconciliation.

With significant bookkeeping/accountancy experience in a retail or not for profit environment you will need to have experience of preparing accounts to trial balance and ideally be part or fully qualified AAT (or equivalent). Knowledge of Sage is necessary together with good interpersonal skills

22.5 hours per week
