This is a great opportunity to join a UK market leading manufacturer supplying to our specific niche within the construction sector. We have a clear development strategy and solid future growth prospects, but there are still challenges to meet! (and we are not unique in the sector for that!) Hence we need a resilient and hands-on FD to play a full part on the Board and do the basics well, whilst also being a first rate relationship manager and communicator.
Our Company is a well-known brand name in its markets, established over many decades and with a reputation based on quality and more recently innovation too. New product ranges have been introduced successfully, whilst legacy systems and practices in Finance and across the business have been updated and streamlined. A network of manufacturing sites across the UK service our customer base.
Your main responsibilities as a Board Member will be: to lead the relatively small Finance Team both by example whilst developing them and delegating to them further; to take a more proactive stance in our relationships with external stakeholders; and to improve the financial reporting structure, especially from the sites.
In turn we are looking for a Qualified FD, with maturity of character, and who can bring a variety of past experiences to the role, and who fully understands the need for strict financial discipline in cyclical industries. As above a great relationship manager and communicator - approachable, team orientated, collaborative at all levels but also knows when and how to challenge Board colleagues for the greater good of the business.
