One of Bristol’s oldest family businesses with an enviable history of great customer service and a strong financial base is now offering an opportunity for a forward thinking, commercially aware and financially astute chartered or CIMA qualified accountant to join the group as its new Finance Director as it embarks on the next phase of its growth plans.
As Finance Director, you will lead its accounts team, developing talent and delivery analysis to advise and direct company strategic decisions. You will have exceptional IT skills to drive integrated business platforms to exceed customer expectation while rationalising business processes.
The position will report directly to the then managing director and will be responsible for;
- Presentation to the board of timely and accurate monthly management accounts
- Ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place to minimise the risk of fraud within the group
- Compliance with all relevant company law
- Filing of company and VAT returns
- Payroll
- Oversight of ISO 9001 quality manual & procedures
- Data analysis & presentation to ensure effective control of company KPI’s
- Company Secretarial duties
- IT contracts, maintenance & implementation, ensuring its stability and capacity for growth
- Cash management
- Financial strength of the company
- Liaison with regulatory external advisors, including HMRC & auditors
Specifications;
- ACCA or CIMA qualifications
- Ability to present complex data simply
- Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills as the role requires you to develop your team whilst working across all departments and branches
Desirable;
- Project management qualification
- A self-aware individual who exudes humour, understanding and honesty
- Understanding of HR functions
