This business is a small/medium restaurant group based in Buckinghamshire/Berkshire. They are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join them.

The Role
The Finance Controller reports directly into the CEO. Responsibilities will include all elements of the finance and payroll functions for the business across all the restaurants. There are plans for growth within the business, so the role will expand and grow in the future.

Responsibilities
- Weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
- Cash reconciliation across all the restaurants
- Review of cash up procedures and processes, assisting with adherence.
- Report production reviewing petty cash, compensation or money off offered in restaurants and discrepancies in cash.
- Weekly trading report updates produced and distributed
- Weekly cashflow report updates produced and distributed
- Payroll administration for all employees (approximately 200) as well as service charge allocation and pension/statutory payments adherence
- Approval of payroll for each restaurant and acting as the direct contact for third party payroll company
- Responding and resolving payroll/pension queries/issues
- Tax reporting updates
- Approval of tax balances
- Processing of monthly invoices
- Updates of monthly management accounts
- Checking of supplier invoices and payments made
- VAT return to deadlines
- Compilation of material for statutory accounts and tax comps (prepared by external accountants)
- New site models including new site budget and spend updates, rent review discussions and bank/ finance discussions
- Advise on IT solutions for the company and act as direct contact with external IT support

Attributes and Skills:

- Excellent relationship building skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or equivalent
- Experience in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting
- High attention to detail
- Process driven and a strategic thinker
- Able to self motivate and work in a disciplined fashion to adhere to and meet deadlines and targets
- A problem solver
- Excellent skills in financial management software; Xero is an advantage
- A willingness to get involved with the business overall; this is not a large company and there is an element of 'all hands on' to the business approach
