Location: Cuckfield
Pay: £20,000 – £22,000
Duration: Temporary, Full Time Position - 12 months contract – to cover maternity leave with the potential for permanent role at the end of contract. The position is to support the Finance Team Leader in recording and maintaining financial records.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9.00-17.30

Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant
- Work closely with the Finance Team Leader to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters
- Sales ledger invoicing and administration
- Purchase ledger processing and reconciling supplier statements
- Assisting with credit control
- Cashbook functions and bank reconciliations
- Customer product returns administration
- Assisting with stock level monitoring and re-ordering
- Assisting with sales orders processing and dispatching
- Assisting in the production of financial statements including the preparation of spreadsheets, reports and correspondence as required
- Resolution of finance related queries
- All other ad hoc finance admin as requested
Person specification:
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a finance department
- Credit Control Experience
- Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures
- Good level of competence in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience with Sage
- Good communication and listening skills
- Good organisational skills used in planning own work
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
Desirable:
- A recognised finance qualification
