Field Service Lead
UK Based

This company is looking for a Field Service Engineer to provide an efficient and professional repair, maintenance and service provision on a wide variety of HPLC, GC, MS, CTC, Symbiosis, Dissolution, & associated systems to customers where required as the business demands.

A negotiable salary (according to experience) is accompanied with a fully serviced company car and pension scheme, lunch allowance, laptop and mobile phone.

Responsibilities:

- Carry out repair, calibration and service of laboratory equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and service to contract schedules
- Carry out on site installation and operational qualification to manufacturers protocols.
- To fault find and resolve issues to customer expectations to Service Level Agreements
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships and maximise customer's use of the products and services.
- Time management and prioritise your skills to complete work to deadlines
- Respond to breakdowns that the office receive.
- Demonstrate a proactive and self-motivated approach to maintaining current knowledge of products and services and consistently offer customers an enhanced service
- Build harmonious, productive working relationships with all members of the company and maintain a co-ordinated team approach
- Maintain, develop and report OQ/PV Documentation for the client/customer as part of the company’s services.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the Company’s products and services and current research to keep customers and potential customers informed and maintain the company’s profile.
- Maintain data and provide accurate reports to deadlines
- Maintain adequate amounts of stock and equipment at all times in order to minimise customer downtime and ensure compliance with contractual objectives
- Develop and maintain effective customer facing communication and questioning skills to determine the issues to be resolved.
- Ensure customer field service reports are completed and any surplus parts are returned to the office within a 48 hour time frame.

Skills and Experience:

- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, working on a range of laboratory and life sciences equipment
- Familiarity with chromatography and mass spec software, including Empower, Chemstation, TotalChrom and Chromeleon.
- Ideally you will be educated with an HNC, HND or BSc in a life science discipline or an ONC, HNC in an engineering discipline.
- Full UK driving license
- Experience of effective internal/external communication skills in a customer facing or customer service environment, with excellent telephone manner.
- Demonstrable experience in supporting customers and the service co-ordinator to achieve business objectives by providing accurate service reports to deadlines
- Intermediate level IT skills in MS Office and report writing in Word & Excel.
