This company is looking for an experienced Product Prototype Developer/Model Maker with excellent skills and experience in making patterns/moulds to make prototype models using Fibre Glass.

They are looking for an experienced Model Maker with excellent work shop skills to make prototype. The ideal candidate will work closely with the development department, mainly development work rather than mass production who is good with tools and able to work from drawings, but also display plenty of initiative in resolving technical problems. The candidate will also have input into the final design of the product to help with the ease of manufacture.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
- You will work closely with the development department, have an excellent ‘hands on’ working knowledge of tools and be able to work from drawings, but also display initiative/creativity in resolving technical problems.
- You will work closely with the design department to assist in the design of new products or modifications to existing designs, from detailed component design to full assembly.
- Communicate with Management/Directors to provide information on project status and expected completion dates.
- Liaise with other workshop staff and designers to carry out work.
- Continually seek to improve both personal and workshop capabilities.

Skills / Experience:
- Ability to use standard machine shop tools such as hand tools and portable power tools.
- Thorough machine shop knowledge and experience is essential.
- High level of hand finishing craftsmanship in a variety of materials, mainly creating resin moulds to cast fibre glass products from.
- Creativity, imagination and a willingness to adapt to different techniques and use of material.
- You will be a self motivated, hard working individual who has a burning ambition to design imaginative products.
- Good communication skills are required as well as being well organised and a strong team player with a high standard of attention to detail.

Hours:
- Mon 8am - 5pm, Tues to Thurs 8am - 5.30pm, Fri 8am – 4pm (43hrs per week)

Salary:
- Negotiable depending on level of skills and experience
