This leading Nationwide provider of Case Management and Rehabilitation Services is recruiting for a care team to support their client, a young girl born in 2008, who suffered a trauma at birth that has resulted in her having cerebral palsy affecting her whole body, causing her to have communication difficulties.

Our client enjoys visiting places of interest, swimming, shopping & playing with her friends. She lives at home with her parents and younger brother & attends a special needs school.

Role overview:
To assist our Client with all aspects of her care whilst supporting the family with everyday life. Our client requires help with daily living tasks & help enabling her to access play, learning & social activities. The Support Worker’s task will be to promote wellbeing and independence under the guidance of our client’s parents & professionals. The Support Worker will be expected to follow advice and recommendations from parents and specialists i.e. on positioning, feeding, exercises, etc.

Support Worker Attributes:
- *Physically fit, for moving & handling purposes.
- *Female – personal care required.
- Confident working in a family home, sensitive to the needs & wishes of the client and family; able to demonstrate the need for confidentiality & privacy, reliable and trustworthy.
- Flexible, encouraging and proactive attitude
- Happy to learn new things – feeding techniques, personal care routine. Training will be given as appropriate
- Willing to participate in a variety of outdoor activities with a proactive approach to developing activities
- Keen to see the child develop, have a willingness to carry through therapeutic activities on a daily basis. Training will be given as required.
- Open to accompanying the family on days out, in school holidays or at weekends & possibly on holidays. Arrangements will be agreed prior.
- Full clean driving licence willing to drive the client’s adapted vehicle.
- Non Smoker – this post operates in a non-smoking environment.

Hours:
Available shifts: Evening, sleep-in & morning shifts from Monday - Sunday. Additional hours may be available.

Remuneration:
£9.50 per hour Monday – Friday, Days, £11.50 per hour Weekends, Days. Sleeping Nights will be paid at National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage per hour dependent on age. Ongoing training & support provided. Free DBS check.
