An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our organisation in delivering the Department of International Trade (DIT) contract for the East of England as an Export Growth Trade Adviser. DIT is responsible for promoting British trade across the world, providing bespoke and tailored services to businesses, supporting the achievement of their export growth objectives. We are now looking for an Export Growth Trade Adviser who will work with businesses of all sizes, advising them in how to develop and benefit quickly from international trade to grow their business and in doing so meet DIT targets. You will act as an Account Manager to those businesses using your own expertise and that of colleagues and public/private sector providers to deliver information, advice and guidance to customers.

This position requires travel mainly around the Essex area and therefore the ideal candidate will be based within easy driving distance of Essex.

The Role

You will work with companies to develop an international strategy, formulate action plans and tailor DIT and other external support to deliver their business objectives, and assist companies in developing their international business potential as quickly as possible. You will work to increase the take up of DIT services include additional support through funded programmes and support events where required to promote various services. You will manage customer expectations and work in a way that meets customer’s needs.

You will have sound knowledge and demonstrable experience of international trade, preferably across more than one sector, as well as sound general business experience ideally at a senior level. You should be able to identify clients’ needs and assess their ability to trade internationally, have the ability to maintain relationships with numerous clients simultaneously and support clients using both remote and digital methods. You will be proficient in IT and CRM systems. General knowledge of issues affecting UK businesses and the impact on the economy is necessary. Formal qualifications in Exporting, Marketing or Business Development and prior membership of Institute of Export and maintenance of ongoing CPD would be beneficial. You will be a self-starter, excited about working against challenging targets and timeframes, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels.

This role is subject to Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) pre-employment screening.

Salary up to £36,090 per annum plus car allowance, 10.5% non-contributory pension, 26 days holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays, life assurance and income protection, participation in bonus scheme, and access to voluntary benefit options including child care vouchers, flexi pension and ability to buy holiday.
