This is an opportunity for an estimator to join well established and continuously developing team undertaking regeneration schemes, planned projects and cyclical programmes in residential properties. The company works with number of local authorities and housing association to deliver projects of value up to 1.5m. It’s a great opportunity for an estimator with some experience in housing sector.
Responsibilities include:
- Communicate with supply chain and team members regarding new and current projects
- Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products
- Ensure timely completion of estimates
- Understand scope of work to bid
- Manage bid pricing from all suppliers
- Prepare cost analysis
- Establish and maintain working relationships with subcontractors
- Submit tenders in timely manner
- Present tender adjudications to seniors
Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years’ experience in construction estimating
- Relevant qualifications
- Be able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
- A strong understanding of residential construction processes and refurbishment
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel, and estimating software/tools
- Be able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
- Impeccable problem-solving skills
- Review and evaluate cost estimates
