Our client is a 50 year old young at heart woman who lives in Surbiton, Surrey. She enjoys going out shopping, going to the theatre and the cinema. She enjoys music and would like to attend more gigs. She has bilateral amputations of her lower limbs and although she had good prosthetic limbs, she cannot walk or use public transport like she did before her accident.

2 days per week (4 hours per day)
Role Overview
We are looking to recruit a companion to help her get out more and back to enjoying her hobbies. The role would also involve accompanying her to hospital and medical appointments, some of which are local, others which are further afield. She is looking to employ someone that she can chat with easily and has shared interests.
Role Requirements
- *Physically fit - Even with specialist equipment in place and appropriate training, it is important that you are physically fit. A Handling Management Plan designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries may require you to bend, kneel, squat or lunge to ensure good posture during handling tasks.
- Confident about working in client’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of the client.
- Patient and tolerant with a proactive and encouraging approach.
- Responsible attitude with a good sense of humour.
- Reliable, trustworthy and a good communicator.
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and to respect our client and their family's need for privacy.
- Flexible with start and finish times according to the needs of our client
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Ensure constituency of approach.
- Willing to travel
- Full driving license (endorsements to be disclosed) with own vehicle to use when transporting the client.
- Non-smoker - This post operates a non-smoking environment
- Ability to work additional hours as required (desirable)
- Able to work flexible hours, sometimes at short notice (desirable).
Remuneration:
£12.00 per hour. 5.6 weeks annual leave, free DBS check and training provided.
Satisfactory references & proof of eligibility to work in the UK required.
This position requires a disclosure request from the DBS.
