This company manufactures a wide range of products for the Oil Industry and Barrel working machinery for whisky and wine Cooperages. Precision components are manufactured in house and assembled into their products.

Supervises: Machine Shop/Fitting Shop/Service Department/ Stores and Materials Dept.
Reports to: Operations Director

Qualifications:
Time served engineer with 10 years shop floor experience on manual and CNC turning and milling machines. 5 years supervisory and management experience in machine shop assembly and testing.

Experience:
Minimum 10 year experience in a manufacturing environment and previous supervisory experience

The successful candidate must possess the following skills & attributes:
- Be a strong communicator and demonstrate the ability to motivate and get the best from a workforce
- Possess strong leadership qualities whilst being prepared to roll their sleeves up in order to get the job done
- Be able to utilise the software systems in place to help maximise the workshop & delivery efficiency
- Possess commercial awareness and a strong understanding of the markets in which the company operates
- Knowledge of workshop H&S requirements and legislation

Responsibilities:
The work will include
- Overall ownership over workshop performance and ensuring On time deliveries (no 1 KPI).
- Planning of all work and progressing this through the various processes in a timely manner to ensure customer commitments are met.
- Ensure machined parts are manufactured in best possible time, by most efficient and economical method.
- Check compilation of job packages and issue work as required.
- Check workshop employees are clocking in and out for shift periods, as well as Progress Job Packs.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment according to the requirements of the HSWA 1974 and the company’s H+S Policy.
- Responsible for time bookings to jobs.
- Prime key holder, open and lock up premises.
- Ensure machinery and equipment is serviced on regular basis and maintained in good working order.
- Ensure Apprentices receive adequate training and mentoring and monitor and report on their performance.
- Control and monitor the issue of protective clothing.
- Attend and report into weekly production meetings, reporting progress to management.

Salary negotiable dependent on experience.
