Location: Dagenham

Business: This company;s plants operate as integrated recycling units, processing a variety of food wastes to produce renewable energy, heat and ReGrow, a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms. The plants also recycle the food waste packaging. The plants provide an environmentally-sustainable solution for all waste producers looking for a safe method of diverting food waste from landfill.

The Position: They are seeking an Engineering Site Supervisor to provide assistance to the Electrical and Engineering team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the company during the site’s build phase where he/she will be able to gain valuable experience from two current established AD sites. This is a full time permanent position.

As an AD Site Engineering Supervisor, your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include:

- To support the day-to-day maintenance of the site and to assist the Operations Manager with controlling and co-ordinating the safe and efficient operations of the site in accordance with H&S and legislative requirements.
- Organising and implementing maintenance schedules as per manufacturer’s guidelines and liaising with the Operations Manager & Operations Supervisor to provide updates on maintenance schedules and work progress.
- Implementing and keeping the asset management system updated and to attach costing for specific projects/plant modifications on site.
- Completing risk assessments of routine maintenance procedures and unplanned works.
- Ensuring maintenance staff take full responsibility for their work environment and that all tools are maintained and accounted for, maintaining critical spares and ensuring replacement of parts as required at all times.
- Liaising with external contractors, reviewing RAMS prior to work commencing and ensuring that all permit-to-work documents are completed to the required standard.
- Providing supervision and assistance to the Electrical and Engineering staff.
- Ensuring that on each shift a daily hand over has been completed and additional remedial works required is carried out.
- Providing a report to the Operations Manager of all repair work carried out over the previous week.
- Undertaking any other duties reasonably requested by the Management Team.

Requirements:

- You must be either apprentice trained and/or educated to A-Level, or equivalent, preferably Degree level.
- Hold a forklift licence or willingness to train.
- Have good numerical, analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Good written and verbal communication and IT skills - must be proficient with MS Office.
- You must be flexible, practical and hard working and be able to work under own initiative.
- You should be comfortable with working at heights.
- Experience in asset management would be beneficial.
