Location: Wimborne, commutable from Bournemouth

Due to rapid growth, this laboratory equipment supplier is looking for a talented Electronics Technician to join their Research and Development team at their site in Wimborne, Dorset, UK.

The correct candidate should have experience of electronic design and be able to interface digital and analogue signals of different levels.

An understanding of design for EMC and regulatory approvals would be advantageous.

This is a position for someone with a practical ‘can do’ attitude, as not only will the correct person be designing circuits, they will be prototyping and verifying their operation along with creating and documenting connecting looms, Bills of Materials, Process Specifications and regulatory documentation as required, from sub-system level, to an entire instrument!

The position will require the candidate to provide second tier support to the Commissioning and Technical Support Department, alongside Production. Therefore, there may be occasional travel.

Required skills:
- HND or higher qualification in electronics related discipline.
- Experience in electronic design and manufacture.
- Experience in loom design and manufacture.
- Reading and understanding electronic schematics.
- Prototyping on ‘Vero Board’.
- Soldering and Crimping.
- Good oral and written English language skills.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and AutoCad (2D).
- Follow all company health and safety guidelines.

Beneficial skills:
- Knowledge of design for EMC and experience of EMC testing.
- Experience of safety standards and correct selection and application.
- Logical approach to electronic and electrical fault finding.
- Understanding of different PC interfacing technologies, i.e. USB and GigE.

- £25 - £28K per annum, depending on experience
- Working a 40 hour week - Monday through to Friday
- 25 days holiday per annum
- 8 days public/bank holiday
