This is an opportunity to join a dynamic product design consultancy based in Chepstow. They are focussed on developing innovative products from an initial concept right through to production, and work with a diverse client base that include start-up companies to well established organisations.

They are a small design team that has a track record of developing consumer technology and healthcare products. In addition, they support the Welsh Government in its delivery of the SMART Innovation programme, which provides exposure to a vast range of manufacturing companies.

Responsibilities
- Develop new products from concept to manufacture, with a particular focus on electronic design.
- Undertake technical/commercial research and present in formal report format.
- Explore design ideas through a combination of electronic and mechanical software packages, including 2D and 3D CAD.
- Demonstrate the effectiveness of new designs through prototyping methods such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi and 3D printing.
- Regularly communicate with electronic partners and suppliers, as well as the internal design team.
- Manage project time-lines and take ownership of the client relationship.

Desired skills
- MSc/MEng/Bsc/BEng Electronic Engineering (or similar).
- Minimum 2-3 years industrial experience, ideally in a consultancy environment.
- Good component selection, schematic design, PCB layout , digital/analogue circuit design skills.
- Good working knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Python and/or similar.
- Knowledge of Bluetooth, LoRaWAN and WiFi systems.
- Good knowledge of 3D CAD systems or a willingness to learn.
- Must be a team player, forward thinking and be willing to support all electro-mechanical design projects.
