This charity is looking to recruit a Driver.
Responsibilities:
- Driving of vehicles in order to transport service users from their homes to various establishments and return them to their home as required.
- To ensure that all service users are safely secured in the vehicle prior to commencing every journey, making full use of available seat/lap belts and restraints for wheelchairs.
- To take individual responsibility in accordance with their policies, procedures and practices for the welfare of service users whilst they are being transported.
- To provide service users with any assistance that may be necessary for them in getting on and off the vehicle.
- To establish good working relations and effective communication with staff from the various establishments, service users and carers in order to ensure effective service delivery.
- To deal sensitively with the service users and their carers, respecting their dignity and rights to confidentiality at all times.
- To promote the development of a high quality individual needs-led service, and to ensure that services are provided in accordance with their policies, procedures and practices.
- To be responsible for the routine maintenance checks on vehicles, and ensuring that the vehicle is in a safe condition, reporting any fault that is found or may develop to the Manager.
- To be responsible for the cleaning of vehicles and ensuring that vehicles are in a safe, clean and hygienic state at all times.
- To undertake training as required and to promote the development of skills.
- To complete and submit log sheets as directed.
- To comply with their Equal Opportunities Policy.
- To comply with the Health & Safety standards of the charity.
- The above-mentioned duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the postholder may be required to carry out such other duties as may be required by the Transport Manager within the grading level of this post and the competence of the postholder.
