Role: Director -Technology
Salary: Dependent on experience
Location: Head office, London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director – Technology who will be responsible for technology strategy, planning, implementation, integration, operations and supplier management of this organisations Systems and Services. The post holder will be the executive decision maker on technology choices that affect staff, members, volunteers, and electors.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Providing strategic lead for all their technology, except the voter database and associated tools
- Overall responsibility for all Technology staff, with line management of Development and Support leads
- Defining the vision and solution to drive technology transformation, and providing leadership to Development and Support teams to continually deliver improvements in infrastructure, software, processes and procedures
- Advocating and explaining the need for technology transformation to senior officials, manager and political stakeholders.
- Driving changes to the provision of internal IT services across the party, including leadership of the technology and development staff, and working with Procurement and Finance staff to provide leadership in procurement approaches for all technology solutions apart from the voter database and its associated tools.
- Providing leadership via Support and Development teams to work closely with other departments to ensure technology provision meets the needs of the organisation.
- Working with steering groups to shape the party’s strategic approach to technology transformation, including security, procurement, governance, and capability building
- Embed into Technology teams and party culture delivering programmes using modern project, change and risk management methodologies, and the interaction between development, implementation and support
- Baseline, develop and monitor their technology-related budgets, costs, forecasts and related key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Building a delivery-focused culture, driving successful delivery of programmes and projects within time and costs constraints and to the appropriate level of quality
- Ensuring technology is strategically designed and implemented on a user-focused basis which builds on experience rather than digitising existing analogue processes

The successful candidate will have experience of developing technology strategies and managing the delivery of associated technical services, solutions and architectures and technologies. They will also have demonstrable and practical experience at a senior level of working with colleagues to deliver technology change to business processes and systems, and delivering cost savings to the organisation.
