This is an opportunity to join an established engineering company, providing mechanical decoking and ultrasonic tube inspection to oil refineries across the world. In line with significant global expansion projects and penetration into new markets, they are constantly pushing technological boundaries within their field.

They are currently recruiting for an experienced Development Engineer to join their Inspection Team. This position is permanent and based at their offices in Chester.

The successful applicant will be an experienced, multi-disciplined engineer who has worked within a bespoke technology development environment. Knowledge of ultrasound and NDT would be beneficial.

Working alongside external engineering consultants, the Development Engineer will be responsible for the development, testing and commercial implementation of a range of bespoke technology, which will be used exclusively by this company in locations around the world.

The successful applicant will be expected to travel and work in oil refining environments globally, carrying out in-line inspection services in fired heaters and steam generation units. An attractive supplemental travel bonus is offered for any time spent away from the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

- Managing a range of cross-functional R&D projects (electronic and mechanical)
- Participating in software development (C++)
- Assisting with continual improvement of processes
- To provide technical assistance on emergency issues
- Attending global site works in the position of "Inspection Technician" as required

Skills, Experience & Education:

Bachelor's Degree or a relevant technical qualification (HND etc) in Engineering with 5 years industrial experience in a relevant engineering discipline. A multi-skilled engineer with a bias towards electronic design would be preferable.

The candidate must have experience with CAD (Solidworks preferable), with a proven track record to deliver unique engineering solutions, with evidence of success.
