A Design Engineer is required to design centrifugal pumps for a small family owned business manufacturing hygienic pumps in Malvern. As a Design Engineer, you will be using CAD - drawing and modifying components for pumps, strainers and vent valves; and providing technical support for manufacturing, sales, suppliers and customers. Other duties include creating and approving technical documentation.

Hours: 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 3.30pm Friday. You will be replacing their Design Engineer who is retiring after 40 years.

The Design Engineer role involves:
- CAD drawing (for new orders, new designs, modifications, feasibility studies, General Arrangement & as-built drawings).
- Entering stock records and assemblies on a computer.
- Technical support for manufacturing, sales, suppliers and customers.
- Creating and approving technical documentation (eg data sheets, pump curves, test reports, material certificates).
- Obtaining quotes from suppliers.
- Based in Malvern, Worcestershire. Occasional visits to suppliers and customers.

The Design Engineer qualities sought:
- Qualified engineer.
- CAD experience.
- Experience of designing machinery (ideally pumps).
- Ability to draw CAD technical drawings, general knowledge of tolerances, using British and International standards.
- Engineering experience.
- Basic machining knowledge.
- Teamwork.
- Attention to detail.
- Problem solving.
- Knowledge of CAM & CFD would be useful.
