This company manufactures Europe’s largest range of Magnetic Separation and Metal Detection equipment. Due to recent growth and planned investment an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join our Technical team in Redditch.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within a manufacturing/engineering environment, solid 3D CAD knowledge, be confident managing multiple projects and to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Specific Duties:
- Producing Production and Customer Approval drawings
- Assist in the design and development of new products
- Raise BOM’s for products designed
- Communicate effectively with the clients, colleagues and contractors involved in a project
- Identify new systems and processes to drive quality, efficiency and save costs
- Use AutoCAD Inventor to design and model magnetic separation equipment and metal detectors
- Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget
- Assist with Production Engineering Activities
- Research new materials and methods of development
- Organise and maintain existing engineering records on an ERP system
- Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards
- Consider cost, effectiveness and safety of new designs

Education/Qualification
Desirable
- Technical GSCE plus Physics, Maths and English
- HNC or Degree level in a technical or engineering discp
- Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field
Required
- In-depth knowledge of 3D CAD
- Computer literate
- Strong Technical knowledge
Experience
- Manufacturing/Engineering environment experience
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
- 3+ years’ experience in mechanical design
