The purpose of the role is to fulfil customer orders, working within a small team to specify and design generic and bespoke bearing isolator seals based on their standard product range.

Within this role you will be working to provide exceptional service levels through the design of bearing isolator seals using Solid Edge 3D modelling software. You will also be specifying bearing isolator seals for specific applications, and providing technical backup for internal and external customers.
Principal Accountabilities
The key objectives of this role are:
- Design and development of bearing isolator seals and mechanical sealing solutions for rotating equipment, using Solid Edge 3D modelling software to create 2D drawings for in-house manufacture on CNC lathes and milling machines.
- Modification of existing bearing isolator seal designs to meet customer requirements, and changing manufacturing and industry standards.
- Reviewing technical applications from end users, manufacturers, sales engineers and other personnel worldwide to determine appropriate bearing isolation solutions for rotating mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, blowers, mixers and agitators.
- Completing technical quotations based on the seal specification.
- Design of test components and assemblies.
- Testing bearing isolator seals for specification and standards compliance.
- Liaison with internal and external supply chains and customers (including end users, sales engineers, UK and overseas distributors).
Other tasks can include:
- Stock code and bills of materials creation and maintenance.
- Assisting the build team with assembly of bearing isolator seals during times of high demand.
- Providing technical support for end users, manufacturers, distributors and sales engineers, remotely and on-site.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- You should be qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, or have suitable business/industry experience or knowledge
- You will have a good understanding of manufacturing requirements and processes, along with a minimum 2 years 3D CAD experience
- You must be able to work alone and as part of a team and have the ability to work quickly and to tight deadlines in a high pressure environment
- You will be expected to build relationships across numerous departments
- The successful candidate will be CAD literate, especially in the use of 3D modelling software such as Solid
- Knowledge of TeamCenter PLM or Sage Line 500 ERP software would be beneficial
