This company is one of the leading UK aluminium anodising companies. Anodising is an electro chemical finishing process applied to alumnium parts to give a decorative finish and also to improve corrosion resistance.
The main purpose of this job is to plan, organise and manage a small Hard Anodising Department and to ensure quality, delivery targets and excellent customer service are constantly achieved.
The successful candidate will offer strong leadership skills.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage up to 8 employees.
- Maintain quality standards.
- Implement and enforce quality standards.
- Monitor and performance manage staff and implement corrective action as required.
- Attend and contribute to production/management meetings and maintain cross departmental communication to ensure quality and delivery targets can be achieved.
- Control and manage labour within guidelines laid out in their company handbook.
- Ensure H&S procedure, H&S Policy, PPE rules and COSHH are adhered to.
- Make sure that a safe working environment for all staff and visitors is adhered to.
- Interview job applicants, train new incumbents and maintain training records.
- Improve systems and management information within the production process.
- Ad hoc duties as requested.
Skills and Experience.
- Technically competent with a good engineering/mechanical or chemical engineering background.
- Ideally, but not essential, you will have technical experience in anodising/plating or other surface treatment.
- Proven management experience.
- Knowledge and experience in production techniques and processes.
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge and experience in engineering drawings.
