All contracts are zero hours. (see below*)

*Although this is a zero hours contract the Dementia Support Worker role is very well received by the NHS who recognise the value and importance of the service and therefore the demand is very high.

Rates from £7.50 - £13.00 depending on qualifications, experience and shift times.

This rapidly growing healthcare company is looking for a number of motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join their growing national team offering NHS hospitals a unique and rewarding service. They support NHS ward staff with 1:1 supervision of vulnerable and challenging patients to increase their safety, reduce the risk of falls and engage with a number of therapies to increase the patient experience whilst in hospital.

They strive to maintain a valued and much needed service that is sensitive to the needs of the patients they care for, and therefore, they are looking to recruit committed, self-motivated, caring individuals to join them in this different and rewarding role.

Main duties include:

- 1:1 support with vulnerable and challenging patients and patients with dementia
- Some personal care is involved
- Close supervision to reduce the risk of falls
- Providing therapeutic activities to stimulate and increase well being during their stay in hospital
- All shifts are 12 hours 08:00-20:00 or 20:00 to 08:00 (7 days a week)

Requirements:

- An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or BTEC/ Diploma equivalent (or higher) is preferred but not essential, however a solid background in professional care is required.
- Skills for Health – Core mandatory training is preferred but can be provided if needed
- Ability to drive to neighboring trusts is an advantage

They will provide induction training giving an insight into Dementia care, Diversion therapy, Reminiscence therapy and Validation therapy to become one of their ‘Dementia Support Workers.’

Previous Skills for Health – Core mandatory training is an advantage but not essential.

An Enhanced DBS Check and employment references will be required.
